In our Detox & Soothe Face Mist, hypochlorous acid works as a gentle yet powerful antimicrobial agent that cleanses your skin without water. It helps clear congested pores, prevents breakouts, and promotes faster healing of skin irritations like redness, rashes, inflammation, and sunburn.
Unlike many antimicrobial ingredients, HOCl doesn't disrupt your skin's natural microbiome or cause dryness, making it ideal for all skin types, especially sensitive skin.

Yes, Otella Detox & Soothe Face Mist is formulated to be safe and effective for all skin types. It's particularly beneficial for sensitive, irritated, or blemish-prone skin due to its gentle pH-balanced formula that's free from harsh chemicals - and just includes hypochlorous acid, salt, and water!

How do I work HOCI into your current facial and body care routine?
To properly incorporate HOCL into your skincare routine, always apply it to clean skin as your first step after cleansing, or use it as your cleansing step when on-the-go. Once applied, allow the HOCL to fully dry for 60 seconds before following with any serums or moisturizers. When layering products, follow a water-to-oil sequence by applying water-based products first, then oil-based products.
For midday refreshment, HOCL can be reapplied over makeup throughout the day—just be sure to let it dry completely.
If you're using retinol or other active treatments in your routine, apply HOCL first, wait until it has completely dried, and then follow with your treatment products.
What skincare ingredients are best avoided with HoCL?
